The Portugal skipper capped a frustrating evening at the Parc des Princes by clattering a 78th-minute spot-kick against the post and condemning his side to a likely second place in Group F.

After also failing to score against Iceland, the 31-year-old's disrespectful comments about the European Championships first-timers attracted criticism from around the globe.
"Iceland only tried to defend,” complained Ronaldo.
“They had two chances and then did not try to score.
"They celebrated like they had won the Euro cup or something. That's a small mentality. That's why they'll do nothing."
