Has Aguero finally found a way to rival Ronaldo and Messi as the world's best?

Sergio Aguero is determined to rival Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as one of the best players on the planet

Sergio Aguero has spent recent years trying to close the gap on Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as one of the best footballers on the planet - and perhaps the Argentine has finally discovered the secret to realising that ambition.
As Aguero posed for a photograph during a break from Argentina's Copa America preparations this week, it looked like he shares more than just goals with Real Madrid star Ronaldo.
Showing off a pair of extra short shorts, the 26-year-old took a leaf straight out of the Portuguese international's style book.
Then again - perhaps it's an attempt to control his troublesome hamstrings...
Manuel Pellegrini frequently talked up Aguero's potential to be considered alongside Ronaldo and Messi throughout the former Manchester City manager's time at the Etihad.
And his teammate Joe Hart is no doubt about his quality.
“He’s definitely up there (with the best in the world)," said the goalkeeper earlier this year. "He’s got all the capabilities of the top strikers.
“There’s definitely an elite group of Ronaldo and Messi, but Kun is an amazing player."
Argentina will be looking to get revenge on Chile when the two teams face off in the opening game of the latest Copa America on June 7.
Aguero and co lost to the same opponents in last year's final, defeated 4-1 on penalties after the match had ended scoreless after 120 minutes.
Following the first test, Gerardo Martino's team will go on to play Panama and Bolivia, with the top two teams from the group of four progressing to the knockout round, with the final on June 26
