United boss Louis van Gaal revealed last weekend that he wants the Real Madrid star to put the X Factor into his team
Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to make a sensational return to Manchester United.
United boss Louis van Gaal revealed last weekend that he wants the Real Madrid star to put the X Factor into his team.
And Sunday Mirror Sport understands that Ronaldo is excited by the prospect of once again wearing United’s red shirt.
Cash-rich Paris Saint-Germain have made it clear that they will pay whatever it takes to land the 30-year-old – including wages of £500,000 a week.
But Ronaldo loves United and the Premier League.
And he accepts that moving to PSG will do nothing for his reputation, given lack of competition in the French League.
Madrid know that the world player of the year will seek a new challenge next summer – and are looking to recoup most of the £80million they paid United six-and-a-half years ago.
The monetary sums involved give PSG a clear edge over the Reds.
But United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has a good relationship with agent Jorge Mendes and knows that bringing back Ronaldo would be like the football equivalent of winning the lottery in commercial terms.
Ronaldo’s Real team-mate Gareth Bale is also on United’s wish-list, but Ronaldo is now likely to be their best option.
